We are a group of women and men who care about the development of our future, who want to be happier and oriented towards improving the quality of every way of life. Our goal is to help promote all initiatives of individuals and companies to create a better future. For over 10 years we have been working with household products and developing agriculture linked to our daily life. In an increasingly complex world our goal is to "stop time" and give meaning to the little things to share with those we love. We believe that the simple moments of every day of our lives can be those that are worth living for. Everything we introduce to you has been inspired by memories to remember places, scents, tastes, objects and happy moments in life.
Capo Coda is a small area at 450 meters above sea level in the Langhe in Piedmont. It is called Capo Coda because over 100,000 years ago it was the tail of a lake that covered the entire area. Even today, working on the ground, we find residues from that period (snails and various sediments) which certainly helped to create this blessed area destined for a particular type of grape.
The orientation is south - south west. There is perpetually a light breeze coming from the sea which is less than 50 km away behind the hills. The temperature is mild: the summers are cool and windy, the autumns are long with temperatures between 13 and 20 degrees centigrade and the winters are snowy and cold enough to let the vines and new cuttings rest.
This landscape was recognized in 2014 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site because it is recognized as an exceptional living testimony to the historical tradition of vine cultivation and winemaking processes.
In the countryside, the processes are divided into two macro-phases: the maturation of the vine and the harvest.
includes the stages of plant development. The vine has very deep roots and in our case, the small roots that collect all the elements that have been created in the past, reach the extension of 3-5 km for each plant!
The care of the vineyard takes place throughout the year and includes all phases of the plant's development. At Capo Coda all operations are done manually.
In the winter period the plant notices its vegetative development and the pruning of shoots and leaves takes place.
Between winter and spring, faulty vines are replaced and new vines, called "root cuttings", obtained from old shoots, are planted. Organic, manure and non-chemical material is also added to enrich the soil.
Between spring and summer, "green pruning" takes place which allows good growth of the plant which will develop in summer.
In September the Moscato grapes and in October the Pinot Noir grapes and the Barbera di Capo Coda reach full strength
maturation and the last phase begins: the hand-harvesting by our group of women and men who have followed the work and selected the bunches for years.
Every evening, after the harvest, the bunches are sent to the cellar for vinification.
